Blue Ridge Adventures organizes epic XC races (60+ miles) in the Pisgah National Forest Area since 1998. Three flavors of races are scheduled for this year, with one already done and shredded. ORAMM July 24 2011 - The Off Road Assault on Mt. Mitchell is a 63 mile mostly off road Bicycle route with 11,000 feet of climbing. From Old Fort you climb over the Blue Ridge Parkway two times and just below Mt. Mitchell on beautiful Forest Service roads and unbelievable N.C. single track. There are fully stocked rest stops approximately every 10 miles. You can also send anything you wish to any of the rest areas with our staff. Mt. Mitchell peaks at 6684 ft and is the highest mountain east of the Mississippi river. The town of Old Fort where you start and finish sits at around 1400 feet. Most of the climbing is on Forest Service roads while most of the single track points downhill!

Pisgah Stage Race September 27 - October 1st 2011 - Pisgah has earned a growing reputation for having some of the best trails in the country, and this five-day, fully supported endurance event delivers an unmatched sampler platter of the best singletrack in the country. The course includes some of the East’s most rugged trails and tallies 28,000 feet of climbing over 195 miles. Come sample fall riding in Pisgah National Forest with rhododendron tunnels, picturesque creek crossings, incredible leaf colors, and rooty, rocky singletrack.

Swank 65 November 6 2011 - The Swank 65 Mountain Bike Journey is mountain bike racing at its most primeval, far removed from civilization and polluted air. The race begins at 2500 feet, and consists of a triad of cloverleaf shaped loops winding around Gloucester Gap in Pisgah National Forest. Rolling over rugged mining roads, fun single track, tough climbs and hell-raising descents, the exhilarating course will test your skills and desire as you explore the devilish terrain of the Pisgah National Forest.
